Alpine Adventures for all Ages

by Maria J.

Will Kiburz of Coronet Travel has designed an itinerary that includes everything from paddle steamers to paragliding, taking advantage of the astounding range of activities around Interlaken and central Switzerland. It’s a region of Switzerland that’s ideal for the multigenerational trip, assuring everyone in the family will return home satisfied.

Zurich to Interlaken
Arrive and take the train to Interlaken. There is a train station in Zurich Airport, and Interlaken is also easily reached from most other major cities in Switzerland. Your base for the next four nights will be the Interlaken’s Hotel Bellevue, right in the heart of town—just five minutes from the Interlaken West station and close to restaurants and shopping as well.
Lake Thun
Spend the day at Lake Thun, the largest lake in the region where you can swim, wakeboard, windsurf, or we’ll arrange for a private boat to lead you on a tour of the area. The picturesque 12th-century Oberhofen Castle is a highlight. After a picnic lunch, you’ll spend the afternoon hiking to the St. Beatus Caves with its stunning limestone formations.
Mountaintop Views
A must-see experience is the funicular railway to the summit of Harder Kulm, where you can soak in the vistas from the Two Lakes Bridge. From here you can walk the 1.5 hour Theme Trail or enjoy a 50-minute trip on the historic 100-year-old cogwheel railway up to the Schynige Platte, where you’ll find many hiking routes. En route, visit the Swiss Mountain Market for local cheese, fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts.
